Kirklees Council Adoption
The process of adoption can sometimes take years, it can be evasive and emotionally draining but it's a life changing process and ensures both parent and child are a suitable match.
Kirklees Council required a promotional video to aid them in communicating this process in a clear and concise manner. Interviewing successful adopters, the film provides an honest and balanced account of their experiences. While the stills of the interview are taken from the concept pitch, the rest are from the finished product.
I was involved in researching and conceptulising the initial pitch, film direction / art direction, editing /colour grading and producing the motion graphics which tied the five steps of the adoption process together. Finally, I produced a bespoke DVD that opened with a short highlights video and transitioned seamlessly into the chapter menu.
My involvement;
art direction, motion graphics, pre-production, post-production, animation, video & sound editing.

Media Awards
The Media Awards is an annual event hosted at Aintree Racecourse. I took a leading role in conceptualising and developing the event, with the bulk of my time spent in the production of the opening video and cinematics.
With lots of elements to get my teeth stuck into; from scripting, principle photography, editing, green screen compositing, animation, sound editing, motion graphics and finally 3D compositional work for the idents. The latter allowing me the chance to dive into Cinema 4D.
It was a pleasure to use typography as a narrative device, often interacting within the film environments. From a ticking countdown in the "we have 60 seconds to get out of this hell hole", to "move out" revealing behind an arm movement.
Special mention to Ilan Sheady for the superb character illustrations.
My involvement;
art direction, motion graphics, pre-production, post-production, animation, video & sound editing.
